The Fall can be stressful for students (and parents!). Through a partnership with Wheeler Clinic, new school-based behavioral health clinics at The Middle School of Plainville and Linden Street School can help students and families address behavioral health challenges that may negatively impact their academic performance. An array of evidence-based interventions are provided to support students with trauma-related issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, substance use, and more. Representatives from the Wheeler Clinic work with the schools' educational teams to provide an integrated approach to meeting student needs. A Wheeler clinician supports each school location to provide clinical services and assist with linkage to other services in the community, including assistance with SNAP enrollment, connections with primary care at Wheeler's Family Health & Wellness Center, and a broad continuum of outpatient and community-based levels of care. Services may be accessed by speaking with your child’s school staff or contact Erin Smythe, LPC, Program Manager at (860) 793-3860.
