District Recognized For Excellence In Leadership And Communication

The Plainville school district has been recognized with several awards from the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE), according to Superintendent of Schools, Brian Reas.

The Plainville Board of Education received  the “CABE Board Leadership Award” which highlights excellence in Board Leadership / Student Achievement, Professional Development, Policy, Community Relations and Related Organizational Leadership. This awards  program was created in 1998 to recognize excellence in the leadership activities of local boards of education.  This is the 14th consecutive year that the Plainville Board of Education has received this award. The group was  recognized at the 2023 CABE/CAPSS Convention on November 17th.

Plainville Community Schools also received a total of 12 CABE Bonnie B. Carney Awards of Excellence for Educational Communications. In recognition of the good work that is being done on a daily basis, CABE established the Awards of Excellence for Educational Communications in 1975. This year, Plainville Community Schools’ was recognized with first place awards for: the  Plainville Community Schools: School Business Community Partnership Program E-newsletter - Computer Generate Projects category, the Toffolon Tiger Tidbits newsletter -  Newsletter category, the Community Letter district newsletter – Newsletter category,  Linden Street School Principal’s Twitter Account – Social Media category, and the Toffolon Internal Updates and Information staff newsletter – Special Project category.  Additionally, the school district was recognized with Honorable Mention awards for: the Plainville Community Schools Twitter account - Social Media category, the Middle School of Plainville Monthly E-newsletter -  Newsletter category, Unplugged: Energy Conservation Newsletter – Newsletter  category, Plainville Community Schools Budget Infographic  - Computer Generated Project category, the Plainville Community Schools district website -  Website category, the Plainville Adult and Continuing Education Program Guide -  Course Selection Guide category and the Middle School of Plainville School Improvement Plan – Special Project category.

 “These awards reflect the extensive accomplishments of our Board of Education team and our collective efforts relative to district communications. Seeing the awards displayed at the CABE / CAPSS Convention was a testament to the district’s focus on keeping the community connected and informed,” noted Superintendent Reas.
