Community Invited to Share Feedback on Strategic Plan Progress Via “Thoughtexchange”
Posted on 10/03/2018

Plainville Community Schools is seeking community feedback regarding the school district’s progress on strategic plan goals, and will once again utilize “Thoughtexchange” - a short, simple, web based information gathering tool, according to Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett. The district initially used Thoughtexchange in 2016 to gather stakeholder feedback to inform the strategic planning process at that time.

The goals of the survey process are to effectively engage the community to gather insight, identify and address emerging issues and challenges, and foster community ownership of education.

To participate in the Thoughtexchange survey, parents, community members and district staff members will have access to a survey link  provided via email or through the school district’s website, and Plainville residents may “self- register” to participate in the process. Upon accessing the survey via the link, participants will review a brief video introduction page, and then will move on to the main page of the “exchange.”  The survey will allow participants to share their insight pertaining to the school district via one open ended question as follows: What do you think our schools are doing well and what can we focus on in order to improve?  Participants will be able to share individual thoughts as well as read the thoughts of other participants and assign “stars” to identify the importance of each thought. Responders will see the most valuable thoughts through the “starring” process.  Once the exchange has closed, Plainville Community Schools will process the feedback and share the results.

The Thoughtexchange process will begin on October 3rd.   The “Sharing” stage of the process will be available from October 3rd – October 17th. Thoughts may be shared and starred throughout the duration of this timeframe.

“Feedback from our stakeholders is invaluable to inform the district’s Strategic Plan. I hope everyone will take a few minutes and utilize the Thoughtexchange process to inform our planning efforts,” noted Superintendent Brummett.
