Plainville Community Schools will soon have an additional security measure in place with the installation of the Raptor visitor management system in all five Plainville schools.
The comprehensive software program, which will be located in each school office, immediately screens visitor credentials against several databases including the current registered sex offender databases in all 50 states and others, alerting school personnel of any potentially dangerous situations. All school visitors will be required to present a license or other state identification each time they enter one of the Plainville schools. The license or identification card will be scanned and instantly checked against the security databases, ultimately generating a visitor badge. Large school events will continue to follow a group sign in system for visitors.
“We are pleased to add the Raptor system as another enhancement to our safety and security measures in the Plainville Community School District,” said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett.
The Raptor system is slated to be in place across Plainville Community Schools on November 26th.
